Our Green Schools Committee recently attended the Wicklow Youth Biodiversity Conference 2025. This even was hosted by radio presenter, Ruth Scott. Guest speakers included Eanna Ni Lamhna (Irish biologist), Anja Murray (ecologist), Mary Fleming (broadcaster), Declan Murphy (nature writer) Dr Jim Carolan (Associate Professor Maynooth University), Dr Hannah O’Kelly WCC Biodiversity officer) and Gillian Stewart (Wicklow Mountains National Park) . There was also Student Environmental Council Workshop feedback. Finally, the Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr Paul O’Brien launched our Biodiversity Day.
