The IMTA Pi Quiz Regional Round

The Maths Department were delighted to host 10 teams for the Regional Round of the IMTA Pi Quiz 2026 today welcoming Colaiste Eoin, Hacketstown and Blessington Community College to compete in this nationwide Junior Certificate Higher Level Maths Quiz. It was a close contest from the start with all three schools featuring in earlier rounds, however Blessington Community College pulled ahead to lead by 2 points after 8 rounds. At that point two teams were tied for second place and a tie breaker had to be completed between Scoil Chonglais and Blessington Community College. Scoil Chonglais won the tie breaker round finishing in Second Place overall. Congratulations to our students on Team B: Sean Kelly Mason, Grace Gordon, Toma Janonyte and Philip Podaru (Maths Teacher Ms Dixon) on winning second place overall. A big well done to the other two Scoil Chonglais Teams also who put in an excellent performance on the day:

Team A: Elif Dinler, Wiktoria Fenik, Fion Foley, Grace Norton.
Team C: Caoimhe Fitzgerald, Rian Kennedy, Oran Foley, Tadhg Reardon.

Finally a huge well done and thanks to the Transition Year students who helped to facilitate this event and acted as brilliant ambassadors for our school.
