
Gaeilge 24 – when is it, what is it, is there a cost, and how can I get involved?
The aim of this challenge is to encourage young people to try to speak Irish non-stop for one whole day – 24 hours – on 11.11.2025. At home, at school, in shops and businesses, around the town, in sports clubs and with friends. I láthair i Scoil Chonglais, we will be working le chéile so that everyone who wishes to be páirteach can join in – the first step is to sign up at the link supplied on your child’s Year Head Team.
The second step (an dara céim ná): use the Way2Pay link that will be sent to you at home, to pay the €12 participation fee.
Please note that this is an optional, added value activity for students at Scoil Chonglais – there is no obligation on families or students to participate.
What will your child get for the €12 fee?
On top of the oral Gaeilge practice, the €12 paid to Conradh na Gaeilge will give you a certificate, as well as a Gaeilge 24 t-shirt, Gaeilge 24 water bottle, a wristband & a glossary of useful phrases. The Gaeilge Dept at Scoil Chonglais will organise a céilí, quizzes, and other activities as Gaeilge i gcaitheamh an lae chomh maith!
