Choir /Music Group

The Music Group is comprised of students from 1st to 6th year.

We practice on Tuesdays at lunch time in the Music Room.

We focus on a variety of genres of music and feature a wide range of instruments in our pieces. Music Group is student led and places emphasis on having fun while performing.

We are currently preparing for Christmas performances and are continuing to celebrate the success of our recent school musical ‘Grease’ which involved a lot of our Music Group members.

Ms Meally, Ms Adams and Ms. Rothwell are looking forward to working with the Music Group throughout the year and always welcome new members.

Musical

In November 2024 over 100 students took part in Grease The Musical for three consecutive nights to perform to sell-out crowds.

Students of all ages, the production crew and the school’s parents council pulled out all the stops to make the evening shows and a matinee for primary school students an experience to remember. Among the cast of the Rydell High crew were the fantastic Ashton Pender and Abbie Kelly, who gave it socks in the roles of Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski.

Students must be commended for their dedication during rehearsals and for their stellar performances.

Trad Group

Our Trad group meet each Wednesday lunchtime to practice our Trad tunes.
We currently have 12 members on our Teams page ranging from instruments such as Mandolins, Guitar, Concertina, Tin whistles, flute and bodhran
We have 3 teachers who lead this group introducing well known traditional irish tunes that the students enjoy.

A teams page helps with the organisation of the group.

Currently we are preparing for the Christmas Concert here at Scoil Chonglais.
