Dail Trip- Pics

Ms Nolan, Ms Dixon, Emma Langrell, Mazhural Chuderhury, Roisin Woulfe, Joshua Kavangh Kearns, Callie Maguire & Ella Fitzpatrick attended.

Today we were invited to the Dail by Jennifer Whitmore along with Blessington Community College. We arrived and took a 1 hour guided tour of the Dail. Our tour guide Gemma, showed us the different rooms in the Dail and outlined the history of the building and the people who lived in the building over the years. We were amazed by the attention to detail in the interior and the craftsmanship. We then met with Jennifer Whitmore TD of the Social Democrats Wicklow Constituency. Both sets of students outlined the challenges posed by using public transport when travelling to the Dail from our communities. Ms Whitmore said that she would raise this issue in leaders later today.

After that we took part in a workshop where we learned all about the Irish Constitution and we had an educational discussion about the legal age to vote. A great day was had by all! Thank you to Jennifer Whitmore for inviting us to represent our Green Schools Committee in the Dail.

This week, we were delighted to celebrate the many achievements of our students at our Whole School Awards ceremony. Awards were presented across a range of categories including Student of the Year, Students of Excellence, Attendance Awards, and Extra-Curricular Achievement Awards.

It was wonderful to recognise the hard work, commitment, talent, and positive contribution of so many students throughout the year. Congratulations to all of our award recipients — we are very proud of your achievements. Well done to everyone involved.

Class of 2026 Graduation – Pics

Last night, we celebrated the graduation of our wonderful Class of 2026. It was a memorable occasion, and we were delighted to reflect on and celebrate the many achievements of this exceptional group of students.
A special thank you to our Head Girl, Emily, and our Head Boy, Dylan, for their outstanding speeches. They truly captured the spirit and essence of Scoil Chonglais.
Congratulations also to our award recipients on their outstanding achievements:

Devan Sunilikumar, recipient of the Kevin Browne Project of the Year Award

Connor Doody, recipient of the Parents’ Council Sportsperson of the Year Award

These students have made exceptional contributions to school life and are a credit to our school community.

TY Celebration- Pics

This week, we celebrated our Transition Year students and all they have achieved throughout the year. Transition Year was a tremendous success, with the year group embracing every opportunity, challenge, and experience along the way. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, growth, and accomplishments over the past year. A special word of thanks to all at Tearmann Community Garden for welcoming our students and being such a valuable part of our TY Programme.
Thank you to Ms Dixon for her continued support, guidance, and dedication to this wonderful year group throughout their Transition Year journey. More photos will be posted on our social media pages!

Transition Year Golf- Pics

For the 4th year in a row, our Transition Year students have enjoyed a fantastic introduction to golf at Baltinglass Golf Club this term, developing new skills while experiencing the fun and friendship that the game offers. The programme was organised by Madge Tyrrell and TY Coordinator Ms B Dixon, with excellent coaching and encouragement from Tom O’Neill, PGA Coach.
The coaching sessions concluded with a very enjoyable Golf Tournament today, giving students the opportunity to showcase the skills they had learned. Well done to the teams who placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Sophie Harrison from Golf Ireland spoke afterwards about the impressive growth in general in junior golf participation nationally, encouraging the TY students to take up the sport and kindly distributed pitch repairers, tees, and markers to the budding golfers. Past student Neil Patterson, currently pursuing golf studies in America, also attended to share his expertise and act as an inspiring role model for the students, while Richie Monahan provided great support as always, as Junior Convenor.
Students were thrilled to receive a complimentary green fee for a sunny Tuesday afternoon during the Summer holidays, and they and teachers alike greatly appreciated the warm hospitality, encouragement, and refreshments provided, making the experience a truly memorable one for everyone involved. The Captain and Lady Captain expressed their hope that Baltinglass Golf Club and Scoil Chonglais will continue to work closely together in the future to strengthen the connection between the golf club and the wider community, with both extending an open invitation to all students and teachers to visit and enjoy the golf club regularly in the years ahead.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who gave us such a warm welcome in Baltinglass Golf Club: Madge Tyrell Vice Chairperson, Tom O’Neill PGA Coach, Pat Flynn – Captain, Kate Price – Lady Captain, Richie Monahan – Junior Convenor, Claire O’ Neill , Bernie Hennessy, Lil Flynn & Marie Brennan. How lucky our students are to have this beautiful golf course on their doorstep.

Sports Day- Pics

Our annual Sports Day was a resounding success today at Scoil Chonglais!

It was a fun-filled day packed with hurling, football, races, tug of war, rounders, and our newest addition to Sports Day — HYROX!

Our student vs teacher match then took place, and we are still waiting on the referee’s final decision to see who came out on top!

The day ended with a sponge throwing event in aid of our new AstroTurf fund — plenty of laughs and great sportsmanship all around!

A fantastic day that truly highlighted the amazing teamwork and school spirit at Scoil Chonglais. And take a moment to appreciate that incredible view too!
