What a great day, there are a couple of teams still finishing up, but if tomorrow is half as good as today, it will be unbelievable. Final count 21 student teams & absolutely every one of them were out enjoying the weather & the event. Thanks everyone who helped today.

We are really looking forward to another fantastic day tomorrow!

SciFest

We are incredibly proud to announce that our students achieved outstanding success at SciFest, held in South East Technological University today. Bringing home an impressive total of five awards, our students showcased exceptional innovation, creativity, and scientific inquiry throughout the event.

Toma Janonyte – Discover Space Award

Sean Kelly-Mason – Maths in Science Award

Sadie O’Shea, Cara Quirke & Daniella Uti – ISTA Award

Conall Murphy, Oscar Gordon & Ross Locke – 20 Year Special Award

Grace Gordon – Life Sciences Award

A special mention must go to our 1st-year students, whose projects were particularly remarkable, standing shoulder to shoulder with senior cycle entries. In addition, several of our students were highly commended by members of the university’s Science Faculty for the depth of their research and knowledge.

This success is a testament to the dedication, curiosity, and hard work of our students. We extend our warmest congratulations to everyone involved.

Daily Visit

On Thursday 23rd April our Senior History students travelled to Leinster House at the invitation of Deputy Timmins. During the trip the students viewed Leaders Questions with Minister Simon Harris from the Gallery, had refreshments in the Dáil Bar and attended a very informative History workshop led by Dr. Conor Reale. Students were accompanied by Ms Hedderman and Ms Doyle.

Lullymore Trip

Our 5th Year Biology students swapped the lab for Lullymore Heritage and Discovery Park in Kildare yesterday! We might have needed an extra layer of fleece, but the dry weather stayed on our side as we traded textbooks for quadrats and probes. 39 students accompanied by Ms. Kavanagh and Mr. Meade. We successfully mapped woodland study areas, crunched the numbers on the local flora and fauna, and got some essential hands-on experience with abiotic factors such as light, temperature, pH and moisture content. Despite all that we even had a time for a round of mini golf. Nothing beats getting out of the classroom for some real-world science!

Community Gardens

Our Transition Year students were very busy this morning in Tearmann Community Garden, preparing the beds for planting. We are so fortunate to have this wonderful amenity on our doorstep.

A sincere thank you to our Parents Council for their very generous sponsorship of new seating for our senior students. The balcony is now being enjoyed by senior students during break and lunchtime, and they are delighted with the addition.

These two benches were purchased by the Parents Council using funds raised from their Table Quiz in October. We are very grateful for their continued support.

A reminder to all that the Parents Council are hosting their Golf Classic this Saturday—your support would be very much appreciated.
