3RD YEAR GAELTACHT TRIP, OCT 3rd/4th/5th 2022

IMPORTANT INFORMATION IS CONTAINED IN THIS LETTER

Dear Parent or Guardian,

The Gaeilge department at Scoil Chonglais is very much looking forward to next week’s trip to the Gaeltacht. We will be staying for three days and two nights in Coláiste Uisce, Erris, Co Mayo.

The trip will involve watersports, speaking Irish in an immersive environment, and a range of other activities. Three meals a day will be provided, and a supper. Please be aware that your child will need money if they wish to buy snacks en route by bus to & from Coláiste Uisce. All levels of Irish are welcomed and encouraged and students will be helped in speaking, understanding, interacting and communicating as Gaeilge at every point on this trip.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NOTE:

The bus will be leaving Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass, at 7.30am on Monday morning, October 3rd, and returning at approximately 6.30pm on Wednesday, October 5th. Students will text their parents with an arrival time on Wednesday afternoon.

Spare footwear (2 pairs in total, preferably old runners), extra socks & spare tracksuit leggings are essential, as well as a raincoat. Please bring an old towel/towels, which might dry quicker than a very heavy towel. A clear and detailed list is attached to this letter, with the Parental Disclaimer which must be signed by you. We will have copies ready to sign at the bus, when you drop your child on Monday morning.

Please note that we advise against bringing any expensive electronic devices such as speakers or phones. Your child will be participating in watersports throughout the three days, and devices will very easily be damaged. At any point, a device could be lost, misplaced, etc. We remind you and your child that all devices are their own responsibility, and not the responsibility of Scoil Chonglais or Coláiste Uisce.

The phone number of Coláiste Uisce is:097 82473, and the mobile phone number of Scoil Chonglais for this trip is: 087-9735931. Both phones will be available to use in case of any emergency or where urgent contact is needed.

Please contact the office immediately if you have not paid the balance of monies owed using the Way2Pay online system, or if you have not received this link via text message.

Please contact myself, Ms Murphy or Ms Gurhy if you have any queries regarding this trip.

Yours faithfully,

Emer Liston, An Roinn Gaeilge, Scoil Chonglais
